It has been almost one week now since Leo’s passing. Anyone who has followed the sport in the last 30+ years can quickly point out Leo in a crowd. His large physical presence was overshadowed by only one thing – his character and down to earth personality.
While I have never met Leo, I can honestly say that I’ve never heard a single person say one negative word about him. Story after story have been nothing but stories of generosity, friendliness, and being approachable to the regular guy. I think that’s something we as trapshooters pride ourselves on – being regular guys despite any success we’ve had.
I challenge anyone to find a sport where the superstars of that sport are as approachable as those in the trapshooting world. It doesn’t exist and I think the story below is just one example of many who’s lives have crossed paths with Leo Harrison – the greatest trapshooter ever. The sport lost a legend and true role model. He will be missed by everyone.
